How to use the topic pages
The official question bank is published as ten mixed "ticket" groups, which is how the exam draws its questions but a poor way to learn. We have re-sorted all 1,096 questions into the 14 subject areas below so you can finish one idea before moving to the next.
Each topic page contains every question in that area, with the correct answer and an explanation of the rule behind it. Signs and right of way together account for roughly 40% of the bank — start there. First aid, road markings and pedestrian rules are small, self-contained sets you can clear in one sitting each.
When you have worked through the topics, move on to the official ticket groups and then the mock exam, which reproduces exam conditions: 20 questions, two mistakes allowed.
