Which rule does the driver violate when entering the yard?
Answer options
Explanation
Failing to signal with the indicator. Two points are tested at once. First, the round blue sign with an upward arrow (straight ahead only) governs only the intersection beyond it and does not prohibit entering yards, car parks and other areas adjoining the road — so the truck turning right into the yard is not in itself an offence. Second, before any manoeuvre — turning, changing lane, stopping, moving off — a driver must signal in good time and switch the indicator off afterwards. In the picture the truck leaves the straight path towards the yard gate with no indicator at all, and that is the only real violation. A big truck blocks the view of the driver behind and slows sharply to turn, so an unannounced deceleration makes a rear-end collision almost certain.
