From this lane, in which direction may the driver of the passenger car continue?
Answer options
Explanation
Straight ahead, left and a U-turn. Read two things together: the round blue sign with straight and right arrows, which alone would mean straight or right only, and the white plate beneath it bearing a truck symbol, which narrows the sign's scope to trucks. You are in a passenger car, so the sign does not apply to you. But being free of the sign does not mean free in every direction: you are in the leftmost lane of your direction, and the lane-choice rule says a right turn must be made from the extreme right, while a left turn and U-turn are made from the extreme left. So from this lane you may go straight, turn left or turn round — but not right.
