When reversing due to lack of visibility the driver is required to
Answer options
Explanation
Seek help from another person. Reversing is permitted only when it creates no danger or obstruction, and if your own view is insufficient the law requires you to use a helper — someone standing outside the vehicle who can see the path and guide you. The reasoning is statistical: most reversing casualties involve small children, elderly people and objects below the mirror line, and mirrors do not show the ground immediately behind the bumper. A second pair of eyes removes that blind spot, whereas no warning signal can see into it. Sounding the horn or switching on hazard lights informs others but does not solve your inability to see; if no helper is available, you must not reverse at all.
