Is a U-turn allowed while on a bridge?
Answer options
Explanation
Prohibited. A U-turn on bridges, overpasses and underpasses, and beneath them, is absolutely prohibited; the ban is not conditional and is not lifted by good visibility, an empty road or hazard lights. The picture shows exactly that situation: a narrow bridge carriageway with railings and crash barriers on both sides and no shoulder, with an arrow tracing a U-turn on it. There is nowhere to escape on a bridge — a car blocking the width leaves the driver behind no shoulder to swerve onto and no room to manoeuvre, while the vertical curve of the bridge shortens sight distance. Do not mix the 100 m visibility condition into this: that belongs to a different item of the same list and unlocks nothing on a bridge.
