The yellow diamond says your road is the priority road, but the supplementary plate beneath it says something more important: the thick line comes up from your path and turns to the right; that is, the priority road continues to the right, into the arm on which the white-and-red bus is standing. The left-hand arm is drawn thin and is minor.

You have signalled left, that is, you are leaving the priority road and turning into the minor road. The bus stays on the priority road and comes from your right; when the priority road changes direction within a junction, its drivers apply between themselves the rules for a junction of equal-status roads, and in those rules priority belongs to the right. So you must give way to the bus. The dark car on the left is on the minor arm, and it must give way to you.

This question is almost the same picture as the one whose answer was "no one"; only the direction of the thick line on the supplementary plate is reversed. That single small detail changes the answer from "to nobody" to "to the bus". So in the exam never answer from visual memory; every time, follow the thick line on the supplementary plate and see which arm the priority road runs from and to.

• "Both drivers" treats the car on the left as taking precedence too, whereas that car is on the minor arm and must give way to you. • "No one" comes from the idea that a priority-road sign always exempts you from giving way; but by turning left you leave the priority road and the bus stays on it.
